DBP

DBP(m) is almost colourless, odourless or slightly aromatic, ester odour oily liquid, free of foreign materials, insoluble in water but miscible in organic solvents.

It is an excellent low cost plasticizer for cellulose nitrate. It has a lower specific gravity and lower freezing point. DBP(m) is used effectively in protective coatings based on cellulose acetate, ethyl cellulose & vinyl polymers etc
